Saturday’s 3-2 home overtime loss to Sacred Heart denied Air Force the Atlantic Hockey Conference regular-season title and also dropped the Falcons from No. 17 – a five-year high – to No. 18 in this week’s national poll.

The loss dropped the 22-9-5 Falcons into a second-place league finish and the No. 2 playoffs seed. AFA has an opening-round bye this weekend.

The Associated Press and The Gazette use the U.S. College Hockey Online poll for its rankings.
