Air Force has been assigned the first dreaded 8:15 p.m. kickoff of its home slate.

The Falcons and Wyoming will kick off in the late time slot – which often slides to nearly 8:30 for the actual start time – at Falcon Stadium on Nov. 11, ESPN announced Monday.

The game will be carried on ESPNU.

The Mountain West has changed its television payout structure, so bonuses are no longer given to games selected by particular ESPN networks. In the past, Monday’s news would have represented a worst-case scenario as Air Force was assigned the start time that its fan base loathes while also failing to draw the bonus associated with games on ESPN or ESPN2.

Now, by playing on ESPNU, the program doesn’t miss out on $500,000 in bonus money.

So, there’s that.

The game times for Air Force’s final two games – at Boise State on Nov. 18 and home vs. Utah State on Nov. 25 – remain undetermined and under the control of ESPN.

The start times for the first three home games were noon, 5 p.m. and noon. Saturday’s home game against Army will kick off at 1:30 p.m.

Air Force’s lone late game this year to this point was a 7:30 p.m. opening to a 45-42 victory at Nevada.

An announced crowd of 22,023 watched Wyoming's last trip to Air Force in 2015, a game that kicked off at 8:21 p.m. The Falcons other five games that season averaged 26,827.
