If your bedtime falls before the 8 p.m. hour, you may not see Air Force play football again this season.
The Falcons learned Monday that their Nov. 18 game at Boise State will air at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN2. Kickoffs for games in that time slot often slide to 8:25 p.m.
This is the same time assigned to Air Force’s home game against Wyoming this Saturday and set to air on ESPNU.
The network controls the Falcons’ regular-season finale against Utah State at Falcon Stadium on Nov. 25. With the Aggies (5-5) and Falcons (4-5) potentially playing for bowl eligibility, or even higher stakes in the conference race, there’s reason to believe ESPN would want that game for broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, each of which would likely bring another late start. Only if the network relegates Air Force/Utah State to online-only ESPN3 status would it likely start earlier in the day.
That’s still very much a possibility as well, but it seems at this point to be a good bet that Falcons may be finished with daytime football this season – or at least until a potential bowl game.
