Two area colleges made the annual Forbes Top Colleges list.

The U.S. Air Force Academy ranks No. 31, and Colorado College ranks No. 76. CC also is listed as 61st among private colleges and 14th best in the West. The AFA ranks fifth in the West.

The University of Colorado at Boulder came in 101st and the University of Denver 103rd.

For the first time, the ranking has two non-Ivy League schools at the top: Stanford University at No. 1 and Pomona College at No. 2. It’s also the first time for two California schools to take the gold and silver spots. After long holding first or second place, Princeton landed in third this year.

The rankings are based on online learning, study abroad opportunities, graduation rates, loan percentages and job marketability.

The entire list is available at www.forbes.com.
