Weirich heads home

Niki Weirich, the weekday evening anchor at Fox21 News, left the station May 30 for a job in Columbus, Ohio. She joins the staff at the Nationwide Children's Hospital to do commercial shoots and videos on patients, families and doctors for its video marketing department. She was with Fox21 for two years, says Joe Cole, vice president of news operations.

New face at COPPeR

Lila Pickus recently joined the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region as the Colorado College Public Interest Fellow for 2013-2014. Pickus recently graduated from CC with a bachelor's degree in studio art.

Local man has hand in documentary

Justin Reeves, a 1998 graduate of Air Academy High School, helped make the documentary "Girl Rising."

It premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, and debuts on CNN at 7 p.m. Sunday, with a re-airing June 22. The film discusses empowering young girls in Third World countries, and features the stories of nine girls from around the globe. Narration is provided by actresses including Cate Blanchett, Selena Gomez, Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep; girlrising.com.
