Colorado Springs police are investigating an armed robbery at the Academy Bank branch on Pikes Peak Avenue and Tejon Street Thursday.

An unidentified man entered the bank about 10 a.m. and displayed a handgun, demanding money, police said.

Scanner traffic indicates the man got away with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark color Dodge Charger with Texas license plates and was last seen headed eastbound from the bank.

Robbery detectives are at the bank interviewing witnesses and going over surveillance video of the robbery, police said.
