Gazette Premium Content AAA Mid-Atlantic: NJ gas prices rise sharply

Associated Press Updated: April 26, 2014 at 9:05 pm

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are seeing sharply higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in the state on Friday was $3.53, up 8 cents from last week. That's also much higher than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.29.

The national average price was $3.69, up 3 cents from last week. That's much higher than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.51.

Analysts say the rising prices are due in part to higher crude oil prices spurred by ongoing tensions in the Ukraine.
