It has been eight years since the Avalanche and Nuggets made the playoffs in the same year. The Avalanche can clinch the playoffs with a win against St. Louis on Saturday night. The Nuggets' situation is more complicated. Denver is in ninth in the Western Conference but could realistically jump to fifth. If you are rooting for the Nuggets to make the playoffs, here are the teams to watch over the next six days:

Utah (46-33 fourth in West)
at LA Lakers
Golden State
at Portland

San Antonio (45-34 fifth)
Portland
Sacramento
at New Orleans

Oklahoma City (45-34 sixth)
at Houston
at Miami
Memphis

New Orleans (44-34 seventh)
at Phoenix
at Golden State
San Antonio

Minnesota (44-35 eighth)
at Lakers
Memphis
Denver

Denver (44-35 ninth)
at LA Clippers
Portland
at Minnesota

LA Clippers (42-37 10th)
Denver
New Orleans
LA Lakers

Daily breakdown:

Friday
New Orleans at Phoenix
Minnesota at LA Lakers

Saturday
Denver at LA Clippers 1:30 p.m.
New Orleans at Golden State
Oklahoma City at Houston
Portland at San Antonio

Sunday
Utah at LA Lakers

Monday
Portland at Denver 7 p.m.
Memphis at Minnesota
Oklahoma City at Miami
Sacramento at San Antonio
New Orleans at LA Clippers

Tuesday
Golden State at Utah

Wednesday
Denver at Minnesota 6 p.m.
San Antonio at New Orleans
Memphis at Oklahoma City
LA Lakers at LA Clippers
Utah at Portland

Prediction: Portland will finish third, Utah fourth, Minnesota + Oklahoma City + Denver will all finish with the same record and in fifth, sixth and seventh and New Orleans and San Antonio will basically play a win- and-you're-in game on Wednesday for the No. 8 spot.
