CENTENNIAL — Eight people were taken to the hospital after a fire at suburban Denver apartment complex.

At least some of them were injured trying to jump from the burning building in Centennial early Monday. Neighbors threw sheets and blankets to residents to help them escape the fire at the Copper Terrace Apartments.

Firefighters are investigating what caused the fire.
