Colorado Springs police arrested a man on suspicion of second-degree assault on a police officer and third-degree assault after he allegedly stormed into a 7-Eleven store and attacked a clerk Monday night.

Guillermo Lopez-Sanchez, 24, was booked into the El Paso County jail and held on a $10,000 bond, court records show.

According to police, two customers intervened when Lopez-Sanchez allegedly entered the 7-Eleven store at 2802 E. Fountain Blvd. around 10:30 p.m. and immediately jumped the counter, attacking the clerk. The customers pulled Lopez-Sanchez off the clerk and held him down until police arrived.

Lopez-Sanchez reportedly resisted arrest and kicked one of the officers in the head, causing minor injuries, police said.
