HONOLULU (AP) — A man has been sentenced to six years in prison for a drug offense, identity theft and attempting to steal $17,000 worth of electronics from the Navy Exchange at Pearl Harbor.

The U.S. Attorney's office in Hawaii announced Ashon Fain-Farias' sentence on Tuesday.

Prosecutors say he and two others attempted to steal the merchandise from the Navy Exchange in December 2012. Prosecutors say they entered the Navy Exchange by using the identification card of a military retiree.

Prosecutors say more than 35 grams of methamphetamine and 17 grams of cocaine base were among the items Navy authorities found during a search of Fain-Farias' car.

His co-defendants have previously been sentenced for their roles.
