THURSDAY, Jan. 11
Liberty at Rampart boys' basketball, 7 p.m.
It's a heavyweight bout between two of the best 5A teams in Colorado Springs. The Rams host the Lancers in a conference matchup. Rampart had a strong showing in the holiday classic the school hosted at the World Arena. The Rams dispatched Fruita Monument and Colorado Springs Christian and took Pueblo West down to the wire before losing. The Rams lost Tuesday to Fountain Fort-Carson, suffering their first back-to-back losses of the season. It'll be a tough bounce-back game for them as Liberty is coming off back-to-back wins after ripping off a seven-game win streak earlier. The streak was snapped by Doherty, which stands 10-2 atop the 5A Colorado Springs Metro league. The contest will feature Rampart's big three taking on Liberty's terrific trio. Xavier Johnson, Josh Kavalec and Dawson Carper combine for 53.3 of the Rams' 67.7 points per game. The Lancers are led by Sean and Kyle Bohuslavsky and Moz Doria who account for 44.2 of the team's 63.7 points.
