Larry E. Spencer Jr., 29, was sentenced to life in prison without parole immediately following the jury's verdict.

The panel found that Spencer fatally shot soldier Deangelo Brown during an early morning clash outside the Circa Nightclub, 527 S. Tejon St., in downtown Colorado Springs.

Brown, 22, served in the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division and arrived at Fort Carson on April 18, 2011. He was a food service specialist, and his home of record was Jacksonville, Fla., according to the Army.
