Twenty-nine people were arrested over the weekend on prostitution-related municipal charges following a joint operation between the Pueblo Police Department and the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office.

The two agencies teamed up as part of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s national Operation Cross Country event — a three-day nationwide enforcement action focusing on underage victims of prostitution.

The local operation zeroed in on the areas of East Fourth Street, Lake Avenue and an apartment setting and massage parlor/spa in the 1000 block of Eagleridge Boulevard.

During the sting — which made use of undercover operatives — 12 males were arrested for soliciting a prostitute, 13 females were arrested for prostitution and four people were arrested for being accomplices to prostitution.
