Police say a 2-year-old boy escaped injury when he fell from a third-floor window Tuesday at the Hill Park Apartments, in the 300 block of N. Murray Blvd.

Police reports say he fell from an open window onto a gravel surface.

When first responders arrived, the child was conscious and breathing. He was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, treated and released with minor injuries, the report said.

The child's mother was home at the time, but was not able to get to the child before he fell out of the open window, police said.

The El Paso County Department of Human Services was notified.
