Two drivers who died in separate single-vehicle crashes over the weekend were identified by the El Paso County Coroner's Office Thursday.
Sonja Baker-Luft, 23, died when the red Pontiac Grand Prix she was driving went off Fountain Boulevard just west of Chelton Road shortly before 6:30 a.m. Saturday in southeast Colorado Springs, police said.
Firefighters pulled her from the car, but she died of her injuries at the hospital. She was the only passenger in her vehicle.
Kyle Sluder, 21, died after his vehicle went off a bridge and crashed into a creek near U.S. 94 and Baggett Road in Calhan about 10:30 a.m. Sunday, the Colorado State Patrol said.
The crashes that claimed Baker-Luft and Sluder's lives were part of a deadly few days on El Paso County roads. From Thursday through Sunday, six people died in four crashes.
