Four people broke into two southeast Colorado Springs homes and pointed weapons, stole items and attacked a resident during two home invasions early Sunday within minutes of each other, police said.
The first one was reported just after 4 a.m. in the 2700 block of Arlington Drive, police said. The burglars aimed weapons at people inside and stole a computer before fleeing, police added.
Another home invasion was reported about 20 minutes later in the 1500 block of Capulin Drive, just three blocks away, involving four people matching the description of the burglars earlier, police said.
Two assaulted a resident who answered the door and the other two pointed a weapon at a second resident, police said. The group did not take anything and fled the home before officers arrived.
There is no wider threat to the community, police said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
