Midnight Oil tour
Australian rockers Midnight Oil first hit the American music scene in 1987 with "Beds are Burning." Three decades later, The Oils (as fans call them) will stop at Denver's Paramount Theatre on Tuesday as part of their 50-date Great Circle Tour - their first in more than 15 years. Why the hiatus? Lead singer Peter Garrett, now 64, served in the Australian government for more than 11 years, beginning in 2002. This makes sense since many of Midnight Oil's songs have a political hook. The Denver show features opening band All Our Exes Live In Texas and kicks off at 8. Tickets start at $29.50, and you may want to act fast. axs.com.
