1 dead, 1 injured as car goes into Clear Creek

One person is dead and a second person was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after a car tumbled into Clear Creek Tuesday morning, authorities say.

The names and genders of the victims have not been released pending notification of family members. Both of the victims were adults. Two people were in the car and a female died in the crash, according to the Colorado State Patrol. A male was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The crash happened at 10:27 a.m. about 10 miles West of Golden, said Trooper Nate Reid.

Only one car was involved in the accident and only two people were in the car, Reid said. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
